Holly Lawrence won a spectacular victory in the women's half ironman ® 70.3® World Championships on Australia's Gold Coast. She has earned the biggest win of her career at the 2016 IRONMAN ® 70.3® World Championship. The 26 year old star, finished her swim, bike and run in a total time of four hours, nine minutes and 11 seconds on the Sunshine Coast. She was nearly two minutes ahead of Australian two-time winner Melissa Hauschildt
On Sunday Lawrence proved that comprehensive victories earlier this year at Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon and IRONMAN ® 70.3® Mont Tremblant showed that she had truly arrived as a world championship contender. She was up against a experienced opposition with the seemingly invincible Daniella Ryf looking for a 3rd world title and Melissa Hauschildt in the race also.
Lawrence took Centre stage, with a nearly gun to tape effort, to take the biggest win of her career and launch herself onto a epitome amongst the stars of the sport.
